If it is titled in your name, it would most likely be considered your asset. That may not be the end of the world if you can exempt it under the applicable bankruptcy exemption laws. If it is titled in her name only, you would not include it as an asset in your case.

@Rachel – is the car titled in her name, your name or both? I was wondering if they will go after her car because she is our dependent, eventhough, she earned this car herself. Please, respond....in dire need of help!

I have a teenage daughter, and she has a car. I'm a mom on the Gulf Coast of FL who is in process of filing C7 and blogging about it. (http://chapter7beforeandafter.blogspot.com/) One of my biggest concerns is how it will impact my daughter as she grows up. It's nice to see that you're realizing parents have these concerns and addressing them. She's 2 now, with a small savings in a FLUTMA account, and she'll be about 13 when the BK goes off my credit report.

Thanks for the great blog. I've skipped a lot of posts since I'm in FL but the general posts are fantastic and greatly appreciated.

Thanks for posting this.
